Core Pillar

"Never miss twice."

Missing once is an accident. Missing twice is the start of a new habit.

Too often, we fall into an all-or-nothing cycle with our habits. The problem is not slipping up; the problem is thinking that if you can't do something perfectly, then you shouldn't do it at all. If you miss one day, get back into it as quickly as possible.

The Two-Minute Rule

When you start a new habit, it should take less than two minutes to do. Scale down your ambitions so you show up consistently, even when motivation is low.

  • "Read 1 page" instead of "Read a book"
  • "Do 1 push up" instead of "Do a 45-min workout"
  • "Meditate 1 minute" instead of "Meditate for an hour"

Habit Stacking

The best way to build a new habit is to identify a current habit you already do each day and stack your new behavior on top.

After [CURRENT HABIT], I will [NEW HABIT].
  • After I pour my morning coffee, I will meditate for 1 minute.
  • After I take off my work shoes, I will change into my workout clothes.

Three Benefits of Tracking

1

Visual Cues

The habit tracker reminds you to act and keeps you honest about your actual behaviour.

2

Progressive Motivation

Seeing your streak grow is highly reinforcing. You don't want to break the chain.

3

Immediate Satisfaction

Marking a habit as done feels good in the moment, satisfying the human need for immediate reward.

Sovereign Local Data

Your habits data is strictly local, stored securely in your web browser. No cloud, no trackers, complete privacy.
